Every year, our office audits the summary financial statements of the Province of British Columbia, which is comprised of 160 organizations including ministries, Crown corporations, health authorities, post-secondary institutions and other public organizations.
Our audit opinion, which is published by government in its annual public accounts report, provides our opinion on the accuracy of the financial statements and explains any significant concerns we have with the government’s financial reporting. It provides the Legislative Assembly with assurance that they can rely on the financial statements.
In our Report on the Financial Audit Work this fall, we will share additional insights on key aspects of our audit work and our findings.
